Day one Monday 2/3
Early rise (5:30). Ok trip to LAX. Delta is high tech and they don’t look at passport or boarding pass but do facial recognition. The taxi ride from the airport to the hotel (NH Centro Historico) only took about 30 minutes as traffic was light because it was a holiday (constitution day). The hotel room is sparse. The mini fridge was locked and when room service came to unlock it, he took all its contents with him. We walked all around the historical district. The Zocalo was full of people, vendors, performers and also police. We saw many upscale stores but no grocery stores. After asking, we found a liquor store where we bought wine, milk, and water. Our dinner was a buffet meal in the hotel. Food was not very good. But the table mates were very pleasant and were interesting.
